A hyperbole is a huge exaggeration, for example the lake seemed endless, the tree reached the moon. In the song “A Year Without Rain” by Selena Gomez, the first hyperbole in the song is “I’ve been wondering in the desert for a thousand days”. This a huge exaggeration because,  you could not wander the desert for a thousand days, just impossible, and the other hyperbole, is ” A day without you  is like a year without rain”, this is also a huge exaggeration because it is impossible to have a year without rain. This is an idiom because it doesnt mean he is a dog and works like one it means he works really hard. Also in the song “like a bump on a log” was another one. This is an idiom too because it doesnt mean a person is a bump on a log, but it means the person is just being lazy. I thought the idioms were a good thing to have in the song, because it gave the song more meaning than saying he works hard or he’s lazy. An alteration is the repetition of first consonants, like for example bears bowling for a bunny with bread butter or trees teasing Tim Trimming. This an alliteration because the p is repeating in repetition closely together. I thought the alliteration went well with the song because it seemed to make go along more smoothly and made everything come together. onomatopeia in the song “The Trolly Song”

Onomatopeia is the use of words to soud like what they mean, for instance bam, pow, ka-pow, are all onomatopoeia’s. In the song “The Trolley Song” there are many onomatopeia’s. For inastance there lyrics are as follows: clang, clang, clang, went the trolly, ding, ding, ding, went the bell, zing, zing, zing, went my heartstrings as we started for hunting dell. The words clang, clang, clang, went the troll are onomotoipeia’s because, they represent what kind of sound the trolley makes; also like  ding, ding, ding, went the bell represents what kind of noise the bell makes, and zing, zing, zing, went my heart string represent waht kind of noise the heartstrings make. they propablley used these onomatopeia’s to brighten up the mood, and also the song is part of a musical, and this song was one of the happier songs, so it had to be fun to sing along with and easier to remmeber.

These word represent an alliteration because, the g is repeating in the first letter of going, good, going, and great. Also the reason I think he uses this line because one it helps the words flow to make a rhythm so it sound like a rap, and alliterations help the song flow especially in a rap.
